Here are our most Frequently Asked Questions. If you have any other queries relating to hiring one of our motorhomes then please call or email us and we’ll happily assist.

Most driving licences are issued with Category B entitlement. All of our vehicles can be driven on a standard Category B driving licence. The government website states that licence holders with Category B can drive vehicles up to 3,500kg MAM (maximum authorised mass). All of our vehicles are weight plated up to 3,500kg. For further information please visit the government website: https://www.gov.uk/driving-licence-categories

We require your full disclosure of any infractions on your licence. If you have more than 6 points then we will need to liaise with our insurers to check your eligibility. If you have any queries then please call us to discuss in further detail.

All hirers will need to provide us a driver licence check code which can be obtained through the government website: https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence

Note: You will need your driving licence number and National Insurance number to obtain your code and it needs to be obtained within 21 days of the first day of your hire period.

We need to refer you to our insurers. To do this we need your driving licence details and and all relevant information relating to your conviction. The likelihood is they’ll charge a slightly higher excess which we will need to pass on to you as a pre-authorisation transaction on the first day of your hire period. Naturally this amount will be refunded back to you upon return of the vehicle, if it is returned damage-free and within the parameters set out in our Terms and Conditions

We do not enforce any mileage limits during your hire. Feel free to explore all four corners of our great nation.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we are not permitting overseas travel in our motorhomes for 2021. We will review this in line with government travel advice for 2022.

Our insurers cover anyone aged 25-70 years.

Note: Hirers need to have a minimum of 2 year driving experience.

Vehicles can be collected between 1pm – 3pm on the first day of hire as shown on your booking confirmation. You will be allocated a specific timeslot for your handover. Collection outside of these times can be arranged subject to availability and at the discretion of CamperVango.

The vehicle needs to be returned on the last day of your hire agreement between 9:30am – 10:30am.

Note: Charges are applied for late returns.

Our vehicles are conveniently stored at a secure location just outside the A1237 ring road, north of York and not at the address displayed on this website.

Details and directions will be forwarded to you on receipt of your final payment, due 28 days prior to vehicle collection.

Please allow one hour for handover on the day of your collection.

We require a damage deposit of £500 which is held by pre-authorisation, which is returned to you in full providing the vehicle is returned undamaged.

However, we expect the vehicle to be returned to us in the condition it was supplied to you. If it is not then there will be charges to rectify this as follows:

  • Waste water tank not emptied: £20
  • Foul toilette cassette not emptied: £100
  • Cleaning/Soiling fee – Vehicle needs internal valet: £75
  • Fuel tank not full when vehicle returned: £50 per 1/4 tank
  • Service fee if evidence of smoking: £200
  • Late returns:
    • Up to 30 minutes: £25
    • 30 – 60 minutes : £50
    • Over 60 minutes: £100
  • Windscreen
    • Chip to windscreen: £35
    • Full replacement of windscreen: £500

We will provide you with everything you need to know along with top tips on the day of your collection. A handy reference guide will also be made available.

Please allow one hour for handover on the day of your collection.

Unfortunately we currently do not currently permit pets within our vehicles.
